Ladies Golf

Rowlands Castle Golf Club has a thriving Ladies Section. There are currently 139 Lady members. New members are always welcome.

With single handicap players, to recent starters playing off 36. We can accommodate all standards. The Lady Captain who is voted in each October heads the Ladies Section. A Vice Captain and committee, who assist with the running of the section, support her.

All new members are offered a mentor. For ladies who are new to golf, the mentor can explain the different aspects of the game. For more experienced players the mentor can explain the various competitions within the golfing calendar and how our club runs. Our club professional is always on hand to help both starters and the experienced golfer.

The main competition day for Ladies is Wednesday with an alternative day on either a Saturday or Sunday. This years ladies champion is Lisa Mitchelmore.

The Ladies Section enters several well-established external competitions including the Stoneham Cup and Hayling Trophy. The Ladies also play in the region of eighteen friendlies against other clubs in Hampshire and West Sussex.

There are a number of roll-ups on most days of the week where ladies arrange to meet friends for 9 or more holes.

The ladies enjoy the social side of golf with several of the key competitions being followed by a meal in the clubhouse. The annual Ladies Captain Day is a great fun day of golf followed by a meal and drinks at the club. There are also events for non-golfers such as the annual coffee morning, Christmas lunch and Bridge afternoons.
